From Nyaungshwe, Myanmar I mailed a couple of envelopes home with scenes in watercolor.
Incredibly the airmail cost only the equivalent of about 3 cents U.S. Evidently Myanmar was not a signator to the International postal agreement. That was to change later during my stay there when Hilary Clinton came to visit. The postage went up 10 times in that month, - all of 30 cents to airmail something…..
